Description
Whole tomatillos are a fruit, closest in taste to a green unripe tomato. Minced finely with green chillies, coriander, shallots, salt, and a little lime juice, whole tomatillos make Mexicos most popular sauce – salsa verde.
Tomatillos are also known asfresadilla, Mexican green tomatoes, tomate verde andmiltomate.
These canned tomatillos are crammed with rich flavour, and can be used instead of fresh ones in recipes: simply eliminate the first step where the tomatillos are usually simmered or roasted.
Each can contains approx 25 tomatillos.
Ingredients: Tomatillos (70%), water, salt and citric acid.
Once opened keep refrigerated in a covered glass or plastic container and use within 3 days.
